AMERICAN OPPORTUNITY FOUNDATION
The American Opportunity Foundation (AOF) is a 501(c)(3) Georgia nonprofit corporation. Founded in 1983, our mission is to preserve, create, and sponsor quality affordable housing for moderate-to-low income persons or families. AOF has received a group exemption as a central organization whose subordinate entities are recognized as exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3). Some of our more active subordinate entities include AOF/Pacific Affordable Housing Corp. with offices in Huntington Beach, CA and Seattle, WA.
To accomplish our mission, we partner with a varied group of developers, owners, lenders, charities, investors, government agencies and social service providers. We consider these partners, and our relationships with them, to be our greatest assets, allowing us to exponentially expand our own capabilities. AOF and its subordinate entities have been involved in more than 30,000 multifamily affordable housing units throughout the United States and are currently involved in the ownership of over 17,000 affordable multifamily units.
